This was the most striking takeaway from Team LattIQ's time at the 3rd BFSI Fraud Risk & Management Summit by Inventicon last month. After listening to leaders across banking, NBFCs, Insurers, and Fintechs, three themes stood out:

🕵‍♂️ From "What Happened" to "What's Happening"

➡️ We are moving away from reactive, manual investigations. The industry is shifting toward proactive intelligence - using agentic systems and automation to catch red flags before the money leaves the building.

🕸️ Fraud is a Network, Not an Incident

➡️ Bad actors don't use a single account; they use coordinated webs of mule accounts and stolen identities. Fighting them requires graph analytics and dynamic network intelligence. If you're only looking at static blacklists, you're already behind.

🥷 The Fraudster's Journey

➡️ Risk isn't a single transaction; it's a trail of breadcrumbs across onboarding, device behavior, network connections, and identity patterns.

🗣️ Insights from Leaders at the Front Lines:

💡 Amit Loya (Magma General Insurance Limited): Noted that behavioral red flags often appear long before the actual fraud occurs. Internal audits are becoming more "fraud-focused" rather than just checking boxes.

💡 Ajay Kanth (Aditya Birla Capital), Hitesh Sampat (IIFL Finance), and Amit Dua (Piramal Finance): Discussed the new "fraud surfaces" created by instant digital lending, specifically identity manipulation and loan stacking.

💡 Sougata Pandey (Edelweiss Life Insurance) and Akshay Shah (The Muthoot Group): Made a strong case for cross-institution intelligence. Since fraudsters move across lenders and payment rails, our data needs to move just as fast.

The Bottom Line: The future of fraud prevention isn't just better tech - it's collaborative intelligence. At LattIQ, we're building the tools to bridge these gaps, turning isolated data points into ecosystem-wide visibility.
